Behind the Scenes
Creating a mess in my basement, also known as my dad's man cave
As paddles range from 3 to 6 feet tall, painting and drawing them can consume a significant amount of space, especially during recruitment season when many people request to have their paddles painted. Sometimes clients request for characters that are displayed in my dad's figure collection which I found inspiring. Despite having completed numerous paddles already, I still feel tense every time I receive a new one, as each individual requests their own style, art, and ideas, sometimes leaving me overwhelmed to create something outside of my comfort zone. However, I always push through and trust the process and in the end, I always feel proud of my work as I got to create something new, with my clients being extremely happy with the results. Through these experiences, I have been able to strengthen my skills in painting, drawing with colored pencils, and mixing colors.
